Title: Production Manager
Location: Greater Lancaster Area
An innovative leader within the Packaging industry is seeking an experienced Department Manager to ensure that company production standards are met across many areas.
The Department Manager will oversee all activities of the Flexible Packaging Department. The facility has Flexible Printing, Extrusion, Lamination, Slitting, Scales, and Material Handling. The Department Manager performs duties through direct supervision and collaboration with the other department managers, supervisors, and employees.
The Production Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Coordinating and collaborating with other departments during the production process
- Track department production statistics on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to report to the Management and Operations Teams monthly and bi-annually
- Oversee the administration of all policies and procedures set forth
- Ensure a positive team environment with good communication skills between shifts and departments
- Enforce all safety rules and regulations set forth by strictly adhering to all safety policies and enforcing the same with direct reports and hourly workforce
- Responsible for pay changes, evaluations, discipline, vacation scheduling for the department
- Sitting as a member of the Safety Committee
- Complying with and ensuring compliance among department personnel with all general SOP's and any job or department specific SOP's
- Directly supervising hourly and salaried employees and filling in for Shift Supervisors as needed
- Other responsibilities as assigned
The Production Manager must have the following qualifications:
- 10+ years of management experience in a flexible packaging operation (Extrusion, Lamination, Slitting, etc.)
- Basic mechanical skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to determine P&L results for specific departments and operations from manufacturing statistics and data
- Good communication skills
- Good computer skills, working with Microsoft products and manufacturing ERP systems
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and be able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
- Must be dependable and work within Company conduct standards; consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance
