Job Summary:
A global leading quality foods manufacturer is looking for a Quality Assurance and Food Safety Supervisor to drive quality assurance and continuous improvement in their manufacturing facility. The Quality Assurance and Food Safety Supervisor will provide technical expertise in the areas of food safety, food regulations and leadership. The supervisor will have a direct impact on safety procedures and practices of the plant while being a primary piece in the training of new employees. They will be reporting directly to the current FSQ manager for maintenance as well as internal and customer product audits. The ideal candidate will be well versed in HACCP GMP's and any other food safety regulations.
Quality Assurance Supervisor qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of hands on experience
- 3+ years Food Safety/ Quality experience in an FDA or USDA regulated manufacturing facility
- HACCP Certification
- Proven leadership experience
- LEAN Six Sigma Certification preferred
- Proven knowledge of food safety and quality assurance initiatives
- Experience in food or beverage manufacturing preferred
Quality Assurance Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Ensure all manufacturing processes in the plant are in line with an autonomous Quality organization
- Monitor Manufacturing activities to ensure accordance with Quality standards
- Conduct audits to proactively find potential quality issues and provide guidance to avoid future issues
- Drive continuous improvement in food safety, quality
- Conduct Quality audits to ensure plant is in accordance with FDA/USDA regulations
- Assist in new product development as well as assist in assuring the new product specifications meet expectations of customer and marketing groups
- Collaborate with plant stakeholders on production schedules
- Coordinate with management in areas of safety and discipline as described by company policy in compliance with local and federal regulations
- Guide training for all employees in areas of HACCP GMP's as well as other regulations
