Job Summary:
The Quality Control Support Specialist is responsible for supporting quality management activities, ensuring that products and services meet customer requirements, and maintaining efficient quality systems. This position plays a key role in supporting MPW's Quality Management System (QMS) processes, including document control, generating quality procedures, managing quality notifications (QNs), and assisting with supplier evaluations and inspections. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working under pressure with tight deadlines in a dynamic team environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Quality System Management:
- Understand and apply industry-specific codes and standards to ensure compliance with established quality systems.
- Manage and maintain the document control system, including procedures and work instructions supporting MPW's QMS.
- Organize and maintain project quality document archives, ensuring accessibility and accuracy.
Project Quality Procedures (PQPs) and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs):
- Coordinate with various departments to generate and finalize PQPs and ITPs for proposals and projects.
- Ensure the timely generation of project-specific PQPs and ITPs after project award.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of Project PQPs and ITPs in relation to GT Auxiliary commodities.
Quality Notifications and Tracking:
- Manage and track all Notifications of Inspections (Hold and Witness Points), coordinating with SQEs and customers.
- Assist in the creation, monitoring, and closure of Quality Notifications (QNs) in SAP, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
Support Quality Process and Metrics:
- Assist the SQE in managing Master Data Lists (MDLs) in SharePoint.
- Participate in quality meetings and support the generation and reporting of QN metrics.
- Manage quality support processes to ensure effective closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective Action Requests (CARs), and Preventive Action Requests (PARs).
Training & Supplier Support:
- Support the development and establishment of quality-related training programs and techniques.
- Perform supplier evaluations, surveillance, and source inspections as needed.
General Administrative Support:
- Assist in maintaining final inspection project folders.
- Assist with the management of quality-related databases and contribute to the continuous improvement of quality systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Manager.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, reporting unsafe activities as necessary.
- Contribute to team efforts in achieving departmental and company goals.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all communications and data handling.
- Travel up to 25% by land and/or air as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Education:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) from an accredited college or university.
- At least 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing or service environment, or a combination of education and experience.
- Experience with quality systems and document control is essential.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Mathematical & Reasoning Abilities:
- Ability to perform basic math operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Capable of analyzing and interpreting data to make informed decisions.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in SAP, SharePoint, Excel, Word, and other relevant project management or statistical software.
- Experience with creating technical documents, flowcharts, and reports.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and/or hear.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a noisy work environment.
- Protective equipment, such as eye and hearing protection, may be required in certain areas.
