Responsibilities
- Creating and maintaining transparency of economic impact of investment / CAPEX measures for the regional business unit
- Single point of contact for controlling related matters for Care Chemical Asia Pacific operations team and providing professional guidance to the site controller community
- Acting as focal point for all controlling related aspects of strategy definition, update and implementation
Lead the regional site controller community
Act as the functional lead across Asia Pacific and provide professional guidance in line with the concept for controlling organization in Asia Pacific
Drive efficiency and effectiveness in the site controlling community by creating and implementing unit specific standards regarding controlling activities or processes
Responsible for the knowledge management of site controllers, frequently exchange best practices sharing between sites in Asia Pacific
Strategic controlling
Create transparency in the implementation progress of the respective strategies between sub-business units, regional teams or product groups etc. and proactively suggests counter measures to Regional Business Unit management
Focal point in communicating with the Global controlling team of Care Chemicals
Proactively challenge the resource allocations of the Regional Business Unit (mid-term and long term) and serve as controlling support of the management in related measures and analysis
Investment project evaluation
Provide controlling input for strategic projects while facilitating discussions with stakeholders on the global, regional and local level
Coordinate and challenge project evaluation input from Sales & Marketing, Operations, local sites, Legal and Tax, etc. when developing and deciding all aspects of a business plan
Define relevant alternative scenarios and provide sensitivity analysis in line with Business investment guidelines
Evaluate possible merger & acquisition projects, support contract negotiations and due diligence analysis and responsible for economic evaluation process of R&D investments including any ad-hoc strategic projects
CAPEX Controlling
Manage the operational planning process of the Regional Business Unit regarding CAPEX and IT investment planning by aligning with internal processes and timeline
Manage the approval process of small investments, such as providing economic justification of CAPEX measures.
Serve as focal point for project approvals done by global / regional management and provide insights to stakeholders in the CAPEX process and spending
Analyze the CAPEX / IT spending patterns including forecasted and actual spending, challenge the sites / operational team regarding CAPEX spending and proactively propose corrective measures
Prepare monthly CAPEX forecast to Global / Regional management, analyze the spending pattern, challenge the organization
Business partner for Operations team
Establish and coordinate communication of the regional Operations organization such as Care Chemicals production site's management, site controllers as well as with Global controlling counterpart in all aspects of manufacturing controlling
Responsible for evaluating the impact of measures being specified in the Corporate Technology database.
Site reporting
Further develop the regional manufacturing and KPI reports to all production sites, providing training to local site management and site controlling
Performs regular monthly manufacturing report and exchange basis findings regularly with regional and local operations management
Challenge the idle cost of the Regional Business Unit and proposed counter measures
Knowledge and capability build up
Build up expert knowledge in the RBU and support the RBU controlling team to utilize the knowledge in-
different Business Warehouse applications, namely GPC (Global Product Costing), Product costing Business Warehouse;
the concepts of Investment evaluation process of Business and process specification of Care Chemicals, CAPEX planning
Support to broaden and enhance knowledge of regional controlling team members.
Maintain active knowledge exchange between investment / CAPEX controller within Asia Pacific and Care Chemicals globally
Qualifications
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related disciplines
- Minimum 12 years working experience in area of Investment evaluation / M&A process support / CAPEX Controlling
- Experienced in working with diverse business management partners, both of regional and local levels and with site controlling
- Familiar with multi-cultural environment
- Strong communication and business analytical skills, attentive to details with good business acumen
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, other Languages is a plus
