As a Commodity Lead, you will be responsible for leading the direct material commodity strategy globally. You will be accountable for driving performance, innovation, cost management, and supplier development within the commodity to achieve business objectives.
The Commodity Lead will be responsible for:
- Develop and execute commodity strategy that aligns with business objectives, market trends, and supplier capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize opportunities for cost reduction, supply chain optimization, and risk mitigation.
- Drive supplier performance, including quality, delivery, cost, and innovation, through regular business reviews, performance metrics, and improvement plans.
- Identify, qualify, and develop new suppliers to support business needs and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Monitor commodity market trends, supply/demand dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, suppliers, and industry associations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on commodity sourcing and procurement.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier development skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
