Position Summary:
A Wisconsin based manufacturer is looking for a new EHS Manager. In this role you will be the focal point of all EHS activity, offering direction for the department across the plant.
The EHS Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Ensuring adherence to regulatory standards set by state, federal, and local authorities, encompassing program development, documentation, inspections, training, and medical oversight.
- Crafting and delivering comprehensive safety training sessions to foster staff comprehension and compliance with safety protocols.
- Overseeing safety initiatives with a focus on cost management, accident prevention, and mitigation.
- Coordinating Industrial Hygiene, Fire Prevention/Protection, and Ergonomics programs, including training, documentation, and reporting.
- Resolving safety concerns highlighted during internal/external audits and Safety committee reviews.
- Proposing safety enhancements to minimize employee exposure to various workplace hazards.
- Managing Worker's Compensation and Transitional Return to Work initiatives.
- Supervising the EHS budget and authorizing expenses.
- Cultivating team alignment with EHS policies and fostering a culture of safety consciousness.
- Leading the response to workplace injuries or illnesses, ensuring adherence to OSHA guidelines.
- Offering guidance and support for corrective actions to enhance plant safety.
- Directing emergency response efforts during crises, in coordination with relevant agencies.
The EHS Manager should have the following qualifications:
- BS in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health or Safety, Industrial Hygiene; functional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Proficiency in managing compliance issues, regulatory reviews, and record-keeping.
- Familiarity with hazard identification, audits, training, and regulatory reporting.
- Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations, and relevant standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- 5+ years of EHS experience within manufacturing.
