Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description: We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to help keep our equipment and facilities in good working order. Your primary responsibilities will include inspecting and repairing machinery, conducting preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment issues. You'll also collaborate with supervisors and other teams to ensure the smooth operation of our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Observe machinery in operation to identify issues.
- Inspect and test damaged machine parts.
- Work with supervisors and other teams to plan equipment repairs.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, including lubrication and alignments.
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment using industry best practices.
- Install, replace, or adjust machine components following manufacturer specifications.
- Safely disassemble and assemble equipment using chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
- Follow written and verbal instructions for equipment repair and maintenance.
- Complete necessary documentation for repairs, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance.
Key Competencies:
- Mechanical knowledge, including machine and tool operation, repair, and maintenance.
- Basic math skills for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic prints.
- Proficiency in the English language for communication and documentation.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in facility repair and maintenance.
- Experience in equipment maintenance, including preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Operation monitoring to ensure machinery is functioning correctly.
- Equipment selection based on job requirements.
- Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex issues.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma is required.
- A Maintenance Mechanic journeyman card is required, with a minimum of three years of previous experience as a journeyman maintenance mechanic. Alternatively, ten years of previous maintenance mechanic experience will be considered in place of the journeyman card.
- Must have personal tools up to a ยฝ" drive.
- Previous maintenance mechanic experience in a foundry is preferred.
- Experience with automatic molding and core making machines is a plus.
- Availability to work weekends, with current openings on second and third shifts.
