What You Will Do:
The Procurment Manager is responsible for leading the purchasing team in this exciting aerospace electronics manufacturing facility. They will work alongside engineering, operations, and several other teams to ensure all production goes to plan. This individual is responsible for managing the flow of components and information between Company and the supply base. My client is looking for a high energy, self starter to improve the purchasing function.
- Oversees the daily operations of the Purchasing department
- Manages purchasing function and Buyers
- Develops inventory strategies such as lot sizes, firm periods and delivery frequencies, develop and manage supplier plan-for-every part (PFEP)
- Drive, manage, and support cost reduction projects
- Develop a reusable supplier packaging strategy, as required
- Monitor, manage and minimise in-bound transportation costs, as required
- Escalate supplier management issues to Commodity Managers
- Contribute to alternate sourcing strategies with SCM, as required
- Train and develop succession plans for key Buyers
- Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above
What You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
- 5-7 years of Purchasing, Operations, Planning or relevant experience, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- ERP/MRP experience required
- Must possess strong communication skills
- Must be proficient with MS Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aerospace, Medical Device, or Automotive industry experience
- APICS or CPM Certification a plus
- Six Sigma or Lean Certification plus
