Site Safety Specialist

The Site Safety Specialist will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the development and coordination of Environmental and Safety programs to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Coordinating Environmental and Safety training (e.g. LOTO, safety inspections, hazardous waste, etc.) as directed by management to comply with standards and hazards
- Collaborating with site manufacturing and engineering to oversee safety assessments and processes in accordance with the company's procedure
- Inventing safety programs and procedures to meet specific site regulations and making sure PPE is always available and easily accessible
- Assisting in the completion of environmental tasks and inspections
- Conducting ergonomic assessments to implement control measures with engineering to identify and address risk factors
- Conducting Environmental and Safety assessments with management and assists in executing corrective actions, while training auditors as needed
- Maintaining accurate records of plant safety and environmental data in accordance with regulations
- Leading cross functional teams
The Site Safety Specialist should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering or related field
- 2+ years of safety/environmental management experience (preferably in manufacturing)
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills
- Customer-oriented with a collaborative approach
- Knowledge of government regulations regarding the environment, health and safety including equipment safety standards and hazard control
