POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the Director of Maintenance, lead and execute the company-wide production control systems strategy for the production sites. This includes the development of corporate engineering standards, guidelines, and best practices for controls hardware, software, programming, documentation, and process design. Ensure all projects, including new installations, retrofits, and expansions, are designed within these standards and guidelines. Provide training, guidance, and technical support for corporate and plant engineering and maintenance staffs so they can effectively plan and execute controls projects, and effectively resolve controls and system problems to minimize downtime. Develops and executes an upgrade and essential replacement plan for production networks, PLC control systems, recipe editors, Factory Talk SE applications, etc.
The Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible for:
- Coding and Developing PLC programs
- Reviewing project requirements to assist different design needs by cross-functional teams
- Supporting product development
- Troubleshooting the automation system hardware and software
- Vendor relationships for site automation/controls needs
The Senior Controls Engineer should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or Electrical/Mechanical/Systems Engineering preferred)
- 7+ years of work experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Logical problem-solving skills
- PLC programming skills (Allen Bradley)
- Prior work in a manufacturing facility (cGMP is a plus)
