SENIOR SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER
- Location: Hickory North Carolina
- Employment Type: Full-Time (100% On-site, 50% Travel Required)

ABOUT THE ROLE
- The role of the Senior Quality Engineer for Suppliers is crucial in ensuring the efficient functioning of our client's supply chain.
- The responsibilities of the position include evaluating and participating in supplier selection activities, working closely with various stakeholders, and utilizing quality systems and engineering techniques to monitor and improve supplier performance.
- Additionally, the Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for conducting root-cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and managing immediate quality issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- - The following are the responsibilities of the Quality Engineer in managing suppliers:
- - Ensure that the supplier's performance meets or exceeds the quality goals.
- - Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance and drive improvement plans.
- - Manage relationships and performance of assigned suppliers through communication and site visits.
- - Approve new products and design change parts through the First Article Review process.
- - Perform on-site supplier quality system and process audits.
- - Develop inspection plans, monitor supplier production, and lead improvement projects.
- - Address quality issues through cross-functional collaboration.
- - Facilitate and/or lead quality problem-solving activities with suppliers.
- - Act as a subject matter expert on specific commodity categories.
- - Monitor, communicate, and improve supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
QUALIFICATIONS
- - The following are the qualifications required for a position:
- - Proficient in Quality Tools, measuring equipment, and understanding of the First Article process.
- - Detail-oriented with the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- - Effective communication and presentation skills.
- - Experience with ERP, preferably Oracle EBS.
- - Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- - Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Electronics, or Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.
- - Minimum 5+ years of engineering or supplier quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
- - Expertise in ISO9001 Quality Systems.
- - Certified ISO Lead Auditor, preferred.
- - 6-Sigma Green Belt or ASQ Certification, preferred.
